Whistle while you work
I have a thing about tidiness, in fact I have a thing about things being parallel. (Crazy though it sounds). At home my room has to be perfect before I can get anything done, down to the drinks coaster being about 20mm away for the edge of the side cabinet on both its edges, and on both sides of the bed.
Why men are better communicators...
Ahh... a chance to be slightly misogynistic?
Read MoreThe fads of being a designer
I was told by a wise designer (John...) that designers seem to be really good at pub quizzes. (Proven to be true by my last 2 attempts and only one aided by my iphone and that was only one question, I mean who does know the EXACT height of mt. Everest?)
The reason is that we get to know really a random topic in detail to do the best design for the client. For example since working here I have learnt how hickory smoked meat is made, way too many Blackpool health facts that I care to mention, and what's fun to do in the lakes to name a few.

In my opinion women are better communicators, why?, well because on the 19th April this year our MD Pete Stubbs gave us all here at 2am Design the task of writing a weekly blog. Jenny and I have done this and each week we have written our blog - granted it has only been 3 weeks but we have achieved something all the men haven't !

This weekend my son Roan had his first trial for Blackpool Football Club.
I was stood on the touch line watching my 9 year old son play and I couldn't help thinking how proud I was - even in these early stages of the trial process I just felt elated that my son was playing for a division one, possibly even Premier League team.
It was really nice that his current manager, coach (Mike) and team secretary from Poulton Town F.C. came down to support him - thanks lads.

Well like everyone else in the UK this weekend I made good use of the sunshine and had two lovely days out. Although Sunday was far more eventful than Saturday! We packed the car with a picnic and the kids and set off heading for Beacon Fell, I thought it's fine I can remember the way and it's very well sign posted I'll be ok - famous last words!
We found some beautiful scenery on the way through the Trough of Bowland! at one point I did think we might have to get out the car and push it up the a very steep hill we were trying to navigate, but it was ok we made it in the end.

Me and my partner have recently been looking at a flat to rent (for the first time) meaning we can finally break away from living at parents. It's all very exciting!
Weekend In Dublin
Last weekend me and a few mates left the windy seaside town of Blackpool for the busy metropolis of Dublin. After a hard days work on the Friday me and a few mates jetted off from Liverpool to Ireland around 9 at night. 5 hours and around 7 Guinness later we checked into a lovely apartment for 5 in Dublin city centre. On the saturday we met up with a good old mate of ours and ex employee of 2am design, Chris Davis. Who moved over there around 3 years ago to be with his long term love who he had met doing work experience in Manchester before he took up permanent residence in Blackpool.
The Art Of Pestering
I thought being one of the lucky few graduates that landed a job that's actually in their subject I may pass on some advice about getting the job you really want and standing out from the rest.
I thought of nowhere better to start than pestering.
Car Boot - (My life from now on - Apparently)
Well this weekend has been eventful, my 12 year son has decided he wants a 32" flat screen TV for his bedroom and being a mum who likes to make him work and experience the value of money, I have told him that he can have one but he has to pay for it himself!
So Saturday consisted of us scouring the house for unwanted items we thought might sell at a car boot. Most of our find came from my son's room, he was very pleased with the amount of toys he felt he could do without! I was very pleased with how tidy his room looked afterwards, much to his disgust!
