Making good use of this lovely sunny weather!

Well like everyone else in the UK this weekend I made good use of the sunshine and had two lovely days out. Although Sunday was far more eventful than Saturday! We packed the car with a picnic and the kids and set off heading for Beacon Fell, I thought it's fine I can remember the way and it's very well sign posted I'll be ok - famous last words!

We found some beautiful scenery on the way through the Trough of Bowland! at one point I did think we might have to get out the car and push it up the a very steep hill we were trying to navigate, but it was ok we made it in the end.

Anyone that knows this area will probably laugh their socks off, as it isn't difficult to get the Beacon Fell and yes it is very well signposted, that is as long as you take the right turning off the A6 and don't head through the village of Scorton to get there!, 21/2 hours later, bearing in mind it should have been an hour tops, we reached our destination.

Anyway Beacon Fell was lovely, and not that busy considering the nice weather, we enjoyed our picnic and the kids wore themselves out running here there and everywhere.

The return journey back to Blackpool was a lot quicker! and now that I know where Beacon Fell is, I think we will be going more often. Although I did like the Trough of Bowland too so maybe we can get lost there again!!
