Delicious design
Every birthday it's the same routine... At lunch the birthday boy/girl nips out to the shops and buys morrison's own victoria sponge and chocolate cake, and I'm not complaining, any cake is good cake. But I wanted to do something different!
So over the weekend I slaved away doing my new pass time... Baking.
I started baking to save money on snacks but have recently been hooked on the next masterpiece that I could create. Whilst covered in flour with a buttercream covered face I wondered why am I enjoying it so much, and then it clicked, this is a creative hobby that I have never even considered before. I think about the theme, the layout, what's the craziest thing I could do with sponge and icing, what will it mean to the people eating it etc. etc. It's great! And to top it all off it's using such an unusual medium...thats edible... that there are new challenges, things to consider and ways to go about it. Try cutting your business logo out of icing and you'll understand!!!
Its great to keep creating when you're not at work, even if it's personal projects or just keeping an eye out for inspiration and hey, if it means eating a load of cake who's complaining!
